Legal Update for Foundations

Attendees learned how to navigate the world of legal compliance with Robinson Bradshaw attorney Dianne Chipps Bailey in this interactive session at the North Carolina Network of Grantmakers' 2017 annual meeting. The session covered a range of legal responsibilities for private foundations and pubic-charity grantmakers, as well as recent legislative activity impacting philanthropy. Topics addressed included board governance, federal tax rules, advocacy, grant agreements, foreign grantmaking, expenditure responsibility, and executive and board compensation.
