Robinson Bradshaw Adds Two Attorneys to Charlotte Office

Robinson Bradshaw, one of the Carolinas’ leading corporate and commercial law firms, has announced that two attorneys – Lani Barnes and Kindl Detar – have joined the firm as trademark of counsel and associate attorney, respectively.

Barnes was previously associate counsel for LF USA Inc. in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she drafted and reviewed agreements related to the design, sales, marketing and distribution of branded merchandise and provided legal clearance of trademark and copyright materials. In addition, her former work as an associate corporate counsel for Springs Global US, Inc., in Fort Mill, South Carolina, included management of the company’s intellectual property portfolio, the handling of domestic trademark clearance, prosecution and enforcement, and the supervision of outside counsel’s actions related to patent issues, trademark litigation and international trademark prosecution.

Barnes earned her law degree from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis and her undergraduate degree from Purdue University.

Detar has served as law clerk for Judge Albert Diaz, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and was an attorney for the Office of the Federal Public Defender, Eastern District of North Carolina. She was also an intern for Chairman Patrick Leahy of the Senate Judiciary Committee in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining the firm, Detar was a summer associate for Robinson Bradshaw and an intern for the Honorable Graham C. Mullen, Western District of North Carolina.

Detar earned her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she was managing editor for the University of Pennsylvania Law Review and was a Dean’s Scholar. Detar earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a Morehead Scholar. Prior to attending law school, she received a Fulbright Grant to teach in Germany.
