Dianne Chipps Bailey spoke at THE Foundations Seminar on August 25-27, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis.  THE Foundations Seminar has provided professionals and volunteers who manage and lead fraternal foundations with a forum to collaborate on a number of topics and issues uniquely associated with advancing their organizations missions.

Ms. Bailey presented on Tuesday, August 26th on "Endowment Management: Legal and Practical."  She explored the most important legal and practical issues facing fraternal foundations managing endowments today. The conversation began with an overview of gift agreements to create endowed funds, with a special focus on drafting provisions that provide flexibility to the foundation to use the funds to meet the ever evolving and changing needs of the fraternity or sorority.

She also co-presented on Wednesday, August 27th on "What You Need To know About Charitable Solicitation Registration."  The presentation focused on fundraising state compliance issues fraternities, sororities and their respective foundations face. The presentation explored the state registration requirements, and more specifically, the applicable exemptions available to fraternities and sororities and making sure once an organization is exempt that it stays within the confines of the applicable exemption.
