Desirae Williams Honored with Pro Bono Hero Award

Robinson Bradshaw attorney Desirae C. Williams received a Pro Bono Hero award from Legal Aid of North Carolina. The inaugural awards recognize pro bono service that serves as an inspiring example to the North Carolina legal community. Williams received one of eight statewide awards, and she was one of only three individual attorneys recognized.

Williams was selected for her representation of a New Hanover County client whose landlord withheld the client’s security deposit under false pretenses. Williams devoted 30 hours to the yearlong case, including undertaking a massive effort to serve the landlord, traveling across the state for court proceedings and obtaining a favorable settlement on behalf of the client.
