Michael Wilson earned his law degree with high honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law where he was articles editor of the North Carolina Law Review and a member of Order of the Coif. Michael received his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Prior to law school, Michael worked in investment banking and public policy, working first at Wells Fargo Securities and then for the North Carolina General Assembly.
