- 3:00 p.m. – Registration and toy drop-off
- 3:15 p.m. – Harassment in the Era of Hashtags CLE
Are you prepared to handle an allegation of sexual harassment in the era of #MeToo? Susan Huber and Angie Vincent-Hamacher focused on both preventing sexual harassment in the workplace and managing harassment complaints and associated litigation risks. They discussed the legal framework for workplace sexual harassment and retaliation claims and offer practical advice for developing and implementing sound policies, responding to complaints, conducting investigations, resolving disputes and navigating the desire for confidentiality in the face of heightened media attention. - 4:15 p.m. – Break
- 4:30 p.m. – Cutting-Edge Employment Scenarios CLE
In this session, Charles Johnson and Gabe Wright examined a number of different employment scenarios, often adapted from case law and stories in the popular press, in order to discuss a myriad of legal issues that arise in the workplace. Subjects included compliance with gnarly and sometimes counterintuitive wage and hour issues, conflicts between enforcement of workplace policies and employee accommodation requirements, regulatory issues under the Americans with Disabilities Act, proper responses to harassment complaints and workplace privacy issues, among others.
- 5:15 p.m. – Holiday cocktails and hors d'oeuvres
1.75 hours of North Carolina CLE credit and 1.75 hours of HRCI credit approved (must attend both sessions to receive HRCI credit).
