Business North Carolina featured Robinson Bradshaw attorneys Robert E. Harrington and Angelique R. Vincent-Hamacher on its inaugural Dynamic Diversity list. The list celebrates people of diverse backgrounds who hold “powerful positions in North Carolina’s business and professional communities.”

Harrington chairs Robinson Bradshaw’s Litigation Department and serves on the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion and Recruiting committees. He is the past chair of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library’s board of trustees and is co-chair of the library foundation’s CommonSpark campaign for the new main library campus. Harrington has also served recently as chair of the Arts & Science Council’s board of directors, and he is a longtime board member for the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.

Vincent-Hamacher sits on Robinson Bradshaw’s board of directors and co-chairs both the firm’s Employment & Labor Practice Group and its Diversity & Inclusion Committee. She is a member of Atrium Health’s Enterprise Board and Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont’s Community Engagement Council. Vincent-Hamacher also serves as outside general counsel to the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina. She spoke with Business North Carolina about her experience as an employment and labor attorney during COVID-19.

“Early on during the pandemic, I helped many clients deal with real crises in that they were forced to implement employee pay cuts, reductions-in-force, layoffs and furloughs due to the impact of COVID-19,” she says. “That period taught me to have even more compassion in the work that I do — more compassion for my clients and for their employees. It also served as a reminder to have more gratitude for so many basics in life that I took as a given. Happily, I have helped many of those same clients reopen their businesses, recall their employees and restore employee pay.”
