A data breach is not just an IT problem — it’s a potential for legal crisis that demands immediate, informed action. We will explore procedures, infrastructure and capabilities that organizations should have in place to lead effective breach response efforts, from effective pre-incident planning, to the moment of discovery, through notification and remediation. Topics include tracking legal obligations under customer contracts and breach notification laws, coordinating with IT and incident response teams, preserving privilege, managing communications and preparing for potential litigation or enforcement actions. Our goal is to equip you to turn chaos into control, including through real-world scenarios and practical tips.
-
- 9:45 a.m. - GC Roundtable moderated by Managing Partner Stephen Cox.
- 11 a.m. - Moving the Goalposts: How Litigation Transformed College Athletics CLE presented by Robert Fuller, Travis Hinman & Amanda Nitto.
-
Drawing upon Robinson Bradshaw's experience on the frontlines, this presentation explores how the NCAA’s amateurism model has been reshaped by state NIL laws, lawsuits by state attorneys general and landmark antitrust cases (including O’Bannon, Alston and House), which have opened the door to payments to players by institutions and third parties, the elimination of many transfer restrictions, and the creation of the transfer portal and the College Sports Commission. We will also address the ongoing employment status litigation, threatened Title IX lawsuits, and the legal and economic forces that may continue to reshape college sports in the coming decade.
