Emma is a results-driven litigator who focuses on efficient, business-minded solutions to her clients’ disputes. She thrives on tackling complex and challenging issues and translating sophisticated legal problems into clear strategies.

Emma’s varied practice spans complex commercial litigation and has included matters regarding patent rights, trade secrets, fraud, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, creditors’ rights and tax liability, as well as other issues. She has frequently represented clients in the energy, technology and medical industries.

Emma enjoys working on emergency motions and is adept at building a factual record and case strategy on an expedited timeline. She is a past president of the 18th Judicial District Bar. Prior to joining Robinson Bradshaw, Emma was an attorney at Yetter Coleman in Houston.

  • Successfully defended against a request for preliminary injunctive relief in a case involving hospital regulations in federal district court.
  • Successfully defended against a request for preliminary injunctive relief after evidentiary hearing in a trademark case in federal district court.

Dispositive Motion Practice

  • Argued and won partial motion to dismiss counterclaims brought against a plaintiff in a breach of contract case in the North Carolina Business Court.
  • Argued and successfully defended against a motion for summary judgment sought against a plaintiff in a fraud case in California state court.
  • Argued and won summary judgment in favor of a defendant oil and gas producer in Texas state district court.

Trials & Appeals

  • Won a contested summary ejectment case in North Carolina small claims court.
  • Represented a defendant in a defamation action on appeal to the Texas Supreme Court, which rendered a take-nothing judgment in favor of the defendant.
  • Secured a dismissal of constitutional claims against an animal rescue organization.
  • Served on a trial team that secured a dismissal with prejudice of all claims against a former CEO accused of breach of fiduciary duty in Texas state court on the eve of trial.
