The Public/Private Partnerships Educational Series focuses on the business and legal issues that arise when public and private hospitals and systems collaborate in response to mounting pressures brought on as the healthcare market continues to evolve in response to legal, regulatory and economic challenges. Attendees should expect to learn about (1) alternative sources of funding related to state Medicaid programs, (2) deal terms, structures and recent trends related to actual transactions, (3) negotiating and doing business with health systems subject to public records laws, particularly with respect to compensation and fair market valuation analyses, and (4) post-transaction issues facing teaching hospitals and academic medical centers, all within the context of public and private hospitals and systems negotiating and doing business together.
