Robinson Bradshaw Adds Associate Attorney James J. Waters

Robinson Bradshaw has announced that attorney James J. Waters has joined the firm as an associate.

Waters earned his law degree summa cum laude from Duke University School of Law, where he was a Mordecai Scholar and University Scholar. He served as the senior notes editor of the Duke Law Journal, a board member of Duke Law Mock Trial,and a member of Duke Law’s Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Team. He also earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in international and comparative law from Duke Law.

Prior to attending law school, Waters worked in Managua, Nicaragua, as a statistical and economic advisor for the Nicaraguan National Commission for Free Trade Zones and as an international program coordinator for the Foundation for Sustainable Development. Fluent in Spanish, Waters served for two years during law school as a translator and legal assistant at Legal Aid of North Carolina.

Waters earned his undergraduate degree with highest honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead-Cain Scholar and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa; he also received the undergraduate prize in both mathematical decision sciences and economics.
