Dianne Chipps Bailey has been installed as president of the Mecklenburg Bar Foundation. Bailey, who will serve a term of one year, will oversee the MBF's mission to advance public understanding and respect for the rule of law and the role of the legal profession; to promote the highest ideals of professionalism, public service, and access to the legal system; and to support the charitable and educational goals of the Mecklenburg County Bar.

Bailey leads the Nonprofit Organizations and Foundations practice group at Robinson Bradshaw, where she provides counsel to nonprofit organizations in all aspects of their operations, including their structure, administration and management. She represents schools and universities, churches and other religious organizations, endowments, corporate and family foundations, museums, business leagues, social clubs, fraternal organizations, trade organizations and a wide array of charitable groups.

In addition to her practice, Bailey currently serves on a number of nonprofit boards, including Women Executives, the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation and Discovery Place, Inc. She is also a trustee with the Council for Children’s Rights and a member of Leadership Charlotte’s 25th class.

She previously chaired the boards of the Women’s Impact Fund, the Presbyterian Hospital Foundation and the First Presbyterian Church Diaconate, where she also served as an Elder. She has raised funds and other support for Girls on the Run of Charlotte and Carolina Breast Friend’s Pink House.

Bailey earned her law degree cum laude from Georgetown University and her Bachelor of Arts with high honors from the University of California, Berkeley.
