Amanda Pickens Nitto was awarded the Community Playmaker Award from Walmart and the Charlotte Hornets. The Community Playmakers program recognizes community members who are dedicated to improving the lives of others and being a force of good.

An active member of the Charlotte philanthropic community, Nitto serves on the board of the Charlotte Bilingual Preschool, an organization that prepares Spanish-speaking children for success in school through dual-language learning. She is the vice chair of the Charlotte Chamber Young Professionals Board, serves on the boards of Women Lawyers of Charlotte and the Roanoke College Charlotte Alumni Association, and is a member of Women's Impact Fund. In addition to being recognized as a Community Playmaker, Nitto has been honored by the Charlotte Agenda as Charlotte's 30 Under 30, Charlotte Chamber as Young Professional Newcomer of the Year, and Business North Carolina as a Legal Elite.
