Robinson Bradshaw, one of the Carolinas’ leading corporate and commercial law firms, has added attorney Ranbir S. Hira to its Triangle office.

Hira was previously a vice president and assistant general counsel at Goldman Sachs in New York, where he was a member of the finance and corporate legal group. In this role, Hira provided legal advice to the corporate treasury function of Goldman Sachs in connection with funding activities and other issues related to the parent company. While at Goldman, he worked on registered and unregistered debt offerings for the company, including advising on securities law issues related to such offerings. Hira also provided legal support for Goldman’s secured funding initiatives and its structured notes programs. He was also very involved in issues related to the repo market and Goldman’s activities therein.

Prior to working at Goldman Sachs, Hira practiced corporate law in New York City at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP and Clifford Chance US LLP.

Hira earned his law degree from the University of Chicago and received his bachelor of arts cum laude from Amherst College in Massachusetts.
