Rules of Professional Conduct: A Refresher for In-House Counsel

Robinson Bradshaw attorneys Kate Maynard and William Miller reviewed the rules of professional conduct as they apply to in-house lawyers. Topics included best practices for maintaining confidentiality when using technology; rules regarding supervisory responsibility in the legal department; conflicts of interests as they can arise for the in-house lawyer; and best practices for avoiding unintentional client relationships. Kate serves as Robinson Bradshaw’s general counsel, and William is co-chair of the firm’s Government & Internal Investigations Practice Group and most recently served as senior advisor and deputy chief of staff at the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
