Overview
Harrison Hull is a corporate attorney whose practice focuses on issues at the intersection of technology and law. He routinely advises clients across a range of industries on complex questions involving software licensing, cybersecurity and privacy, and related technology matters. He has extensive experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements involving intellectual property and technology considerations, and he frequently assists clients in preparing the terms and policies governing their software solutions, websites and other digital products.
Harrison is accredited through the International Association of Privacy Professionals as a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the United States (CIPP/US). Prior to attending law school, Harrison worked in public sector consulting, where he assisted civilian governmental agencies in developing and executing workforce transformation and technology adoption initiatives.
Experience
Privacy, Intellectual Property & Technology
- Drafts, reviews and negotiates complex commercial agreements (including software-as-a-service agreements; product distribution, reseller and referral agreements; and intellectual property development and commercialization agreements) for clients in the software development, sustainable fuel, industrial technology, EdTech, sports and entertainment, and consumer health industries.
- Regularly advises clients on establishing compliance programs to meet obligations under domestic and international data protection laws, including CCPA and related state comprehensive privacy laws, GDPR, COPPA, and various data breach, biometric information and consumer health data laws.
- Routinely assists clients in implementing public-facing privacy notices and online terms and conditions.
- Frequently serves as a legal technology subject-matter resource in support of corporate acquisitions; manages due diligence reviews and assists with the negotiation of intellectual property, software and information technology, and privacy- and cybersecurity-related provisions in acquisition documents.
Startups & Venture Capital
- Routinely assists early-state companies in drafting terms, policies and agreements to protect core intellectual property and commercialize digital assets.
- Represented entities in the HealthTech, AgTech and blockchain technology industries in connection with priced equity fundraisings totaling over $25 million.
- Represented the venture capital arm of a large public aerospace company in connection with several strategic portfolio investments totaling over $15 million.
- Assisted private investment firms, university endowments and other institutional investors with the review and negotiation of investments in a variety of private equity funds.
