Overview
Michael Basse advises corporate and private equity borrowers and private credit lenders on a broad range of secured and unsecured financing transactions. His experience includes asset-based lending, domestic and cross-border acquisition financings, first and second lien financings, and out-of-court restructurings and workouts. Michael also has experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and bankruptcy proceedings.
Prior to joining Robinson Bradshaw, Michael was an attorney with Hogan Lovells in Washington, D.C. and Sullivan & Cromwell in New York. He is not yet admitted to practice in North Carolina.
Experience
- Represented a royalty acquisition company on a $150 million debt financing for a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company.
- Represented an energy company in raising $380 million in financing to support development of prefabricated nuclear power plants.
- Represented a sponsor-backed logistics company in domestic and cross-border acquisition financings in an aggregate principal amount of $400 million.
- Represented a direct lender in respect of a $100 million revolving line of credit to a publicly traded manufacturing company.
- Represented a pharmaceutical company in connection with a $185 million delayed draw term loan facility to support strategic acquisitions.
- Represented a leading sports agency in connection with a strategic investment from a major alternative investment firm.
- Represented a commercial real estate lender in an out-of-court workout of their $200 million credit facility.
