North Carolina Lawyers Weekly profiled Robinson Bradshaw attorney John R. Wester, who recently received the 2016 Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award. Presented by Council for Children’s Rights, Legal Services of Southern Piedmont and Legal Aid of North Carolina, the award honors Wester for decades of pro bono service as an advocate “of underserved individuals and families facing legal issues.” In his acceptance speech, Wester praised the important efforts of the three organizations and the attorneys who volunteer alongside them.

“All that stands between the clients of these organizations and eviction, wage garnishment, foreclosure, deportation or domestic violence is the dedication and perseverance the lawyers in these organizations bring to bear for every client, every day,” Wester said. “Their service brings renewed reverence to the term ‘first responder.’”
