Robinson Bradshaw & Hinson, P.A. announced today that John M. Fogg has joined the firm as a partner. Fogg, an experienced venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and public offerings lawyer, will be based in the firm’s Research Triangle office.

Fogg regularly represents entrepreneurs and venture capital firms in venture and private equity financings in the software, digital media, networking, medical device, gaming and semiconductor industries. Fogg also has substantial mergers and acquisitions experience, having advised on over 75 transactions, including transactions involving 3Com, Cisco, Cypress Semiconductor, GE Healthcare, Microsoft and Sony Ericsson, among others. In 2007, Fogg represented Merrion Pharmaceuticals in connection with its public offering in Ireland, and while in Silicon Valley, he represented a variety of technology companies with their initial and secondary public offerings.

Fogg most recently worked with Hutchison Law Group in Raleigh, where he served as leader of the mergers and acquisitions team and a member of the executive committee. Fogg co-chaired the Council for Entrepreneurial Development’s 2010 Venture Conference.

“We are extremely happy to add John to our team,” said Robert Griffin, managing partner of Robinson Bradshaw. “He is one of the area’s top lawyers in corporate and transactional matters, which is central to our practice.”

An honors graduate of Yale University and Columbia Law School, Mr. Fogg has more than 16 years of experience advising both public and private companies in an array of corporate and commercial matters. He was previously a partner in the Silicon Valley office of Gray Cary Ware and Freidenrich, LLP (now DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary) before joining Hutchison Law Group in 2004.

“Robinson Bradshaw is a highly-regarded law firm with a tremendous corporate transactional practice,” said Mr. Fogg. “I am looking forward to working with the many talented attorneys at Robinson Bradshaw to assist our business and technology clients in the Triangle, the Southeast and beyond.”
