Overview
Kelley Storey represents clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, mass tort claims and complex intellectual property matters. Kelley combines the technical acumen from her engineering background with a talent for simplifying complex issues, honed during her tenure as a high school math teacher. This unique skill set allows her to effectively counsel clients throughout all stages of litigation.
Kelley previously was an attorney at Latham & Watkins LLP in Washington, D.C. Before attending law school, she participated in Teach for America and taught high school math in North Carolina.
Experience
- Represents a publicly traded, multinational company in litigation related to PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) in both a nationwide MDL and other litigation.
- Represents defendant doctors in medical malpractice lawsuits and appeals concerning statutory interpretation and constitutional issues.
- Represents clients in contract disputes, such as joint research and development agreements, employment and noncompetition agreements, supply contracts and purchase agreements, in state and federal courts and alternative dispute resolution forums.
- Defended a startup client in a complex trade secret dispute and secured a settlement after filing counterclaims.
- Defended a large pharmaceutical client in an arbitration concerning a research and development contract with another pharmaceutical company, resulting in a favorable decision for the client on all issues.
- Defended a pharmaceutical client in a Hatch-Waxman proceeding in federal district court that resulted in a settlement.
