Overview

Robinson Bradshaw’s economic development practice draws upon both our extensive knowledge of available economic incentives in North and South Carolina and our general corporate and commercial proficiency. We have experience with every facet of the relocation process, including business organization and structuring, real estate acquisition and development, financing, environmental compliance and permitting, tax matters, joint venture arrangements, intellectual property, labor and employment matters, zoning, licensing, and other local and state regulatory issues. We use our knowledge to work closely with our clients’ senior managers to negotiate incentive, financing and relocation packages that maximize available benefits and achieve our clients’ overall objectives.

Robinson Bradshaw’s attorneys have helped clients in many fields – including manufacturing, communications, pharmaceuticals, retail sales and distribution, and the textile industry – negotiate and obtain favorable incentive packages from various local, county and state government entities. As a result, we have gained firsthand knowledge of a wide range of available programs and incentives, including the One North Carolina Fund, Job Development Investment Grant, South Carolina CCED jobs development credits, infrastructure reimbursement agreements, inducement and millage rate agreements, fee-in-lieu-of-tax agreements, property tax abatements and local tax grants, employee training program commitments and various tax credits.
