A class action suit brought against Mission Hospital alleged that uninsured patients should receive the same discounts afforded to insured patients. The suit sought to recover damages, in the amount of the discounts not provided, for all uninsured patients who received treatment at Mission Hospital.

In December, after several years of hard-fought litigation, Robinson Bradshaw successfully obtained final judgment in favor of Mission Hospital in all respects (no liability, all claims dismissed). The plaintiff attempted to appeal. The Court dismissed the appeal on Feb. 29, citing procedural irregularities.

Robinson Bradshaw attorneys Robert W. Fuller and Fitz E. Barringer represented Mission Hospital in this case.
