Robinson Bradshaw was proud to sponsor The Racing Attorney Conference 2016, an annual motorsports legal conference planned and presented by the North Carolina Bar Association Sports and Entertainment Law Section and the Indianapolis Bar Association. The conference combines education (including CLE credits), development and networking for legal and business leaders in the motorsports industry, like NASCAR and INDYCAR.

This year’s conference featured topics on daily fantasy, digital media, sponsorship and activation, facilities upgrades, intellectual property and risk management. Attendees engaged with motorsports industry leaders in discussing and learning about legal complexities and challenges that are inherently linked to the business of motorsports.

Several Robinson Bradshaw attorneys were involved in the ninth annual TRAC. In addition to the planning efforts of Stokely G. Caldwell, a TRAC co-founder and planning committee member, Matt Efird (also a TRAC planning committee member) served on the "IP Rights - Going Digital" panel. Mark W. Merritt spoke about antitrust considerations in the new NASCAR charter system during the session "Building Long Term Value in Motorsports."
