Benchmark Litigation included four Robinson Bradshaw attorneys on its annual 40 & Under List, honoring the achievements of the nation’s top young talent age 40 and younger. Litigators Fitz E. Barringer, Mark A. Hiller, Amanda Pickens Nitto and Erik R. Zimmerman were named to the list.

Barringer advises and represents clients in the resolution of complex commercial disputes and employment litigation. His experience includes defending corporations and business executives in contractual disputes, class action litigation, false claim actions and employment matters in both state and federal court. Barringer also has experience representing clients before administrative agencies and licensing boards.

Hiller has represented clients in high-stakes disputes in a range of industries, including health care, manufacturing, telecommunications, banking and government contracting. His experience includes advising clients on significant matters involving class actions, business and contract disputes, intellectual property, trade secret disputes, cybersecurity, the False Claims Act and government investigations. Hiller previously served as a law clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

Nitto’s experience includes defending class actions involving college admissions standards, student-athletes challenging the validity of NCAA rules, union workers demanding health care benefits, store managers challenging pay and promotion decisions, and shareholders attempting to block bank mergers. She also advises clients involved in bet-the-company litigation, complicated employment disputes, shareholder and partnership governance issues, derivative actions and securities litigation.

Zimmerman guides companies, universities and individuals through complex litigation and appeals, including antitrust suits, class actions, constitutional cases and other high-stakes disputes. He has particular experience in appellate litigation, having argued appeals in the Fourth Circuit and North Carolina appellate courts, and filing numerous briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court and appellate courts nationwide. Zimmerman co-chairs Robinson Bradshaw’s Appeals Practice Group, and he previously clerked for Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. of the U.S. Supreme Court.
