Eight Robinson Bradshaw Attorneys Recognized as Best Lawyers’ ‘2014 Charlotte Lawyers of the Year’

Best Lawyers®, a highly respected annual national peer review study, has named eight Robinson Bradshaw attorneys “2014 Charlotte Lawyers of the Year” for work in their respective practice areas. For the third year in a row, Robinson Bradshaw had more Charlotte attorneys named to the annual ranking than any other Charlotte firm.

Best Lawyers is a peer-review publication for legal professionals and recognizes leaders with “Lawyer of the Year” designations for high-profile practice areas in communities across the United States. Only one lawyer in each identified practice area is named Lawyer of the Year in each community.

The Robinson Bradshaw attorneys are:

Peter C. Buck, who practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, banking and finance, and energy law, was named 2014 Charlotte International Trade and Finance Law Lawyer of the Year. Best Lawyers previously named Buck Charlotte Leveraged Buyouts and Private Equity Law Lawyer of the Year in 2013, Charlotte Banking and Finance Law Lawyer of the Year in 2012, Corporate Governance and Compliance Lawyer of the Year in 2011 and Charlotte Mergers & Acquisitions Lawyer of the Year in 2010.

Haynes P. Lea, who practices primarily in the areas of investment management, fund formations, and private equity and venture capital transactions, was named 2014 Charlotte Leveraged Buyouts and Private Equity Law Lawyer of the Year. Lea was previously named Charlotte Venture Capital Law Lawyer of the Year in 2012.

A. Ward McKeithen, who practices in the area of civil litigation and has extensive trial and appellate experience in state and federal litigation in a wide range of civil cases, was named 2014 Charlotte Appellate Practice Lawyer of the Year.

Mark W. Merritt, whose practice covers a broad range of business-related litigation, including antitrust litigation and counseling, complex and class action litigation, and securities litigation, was named 2014 Charlotte Bet-the-Company Litigation Lawyer of the Year. Merritt was named the 2013 Charlotte Eminent Domain and Condemnation Law Lawyer of the Year and the 2012 Charlotte Bet-the-Company Litigation Lawyer of the Year and Litigation – Securities Lawyer of the Year.

Lawrence C. Moore III, whose experience covers a variety of civil litigation, including trial and appellate argument in intellectual property, commercial and corporate control disputes, was named 2014 Charlotte Antitrust Law Lawyer of the Year.

Russell M. Robinson II, who concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate and commercial law, securities, charitable foundations and other not-for-profit organizations, was named 2014 Charlotte Corporate Law Lawyer of the Year. Robinson was named Charlotte International Trade and Finance Law Lawyer of the Year in 2012.

Richard A. Vinroot, who practices in commercial litigation in the areas of land use and zoning, real estate development and construction, employment and litigation on behalf of charter schools in North Carolina. Vinroot was named 2014 Charlotte Litigation – Land Use & Zoning Lawyer of the Year.

John R. Wester, who concentrates in the trials and appeals of complex civil litigation, was selected as 2014 Charlotte Litigation – Mergers & Acquisitions Lawyer of the Year. Wester was the 2013 Charlotte Litigation – Labor & Employment Lawyer of the Year, 2013 Charlotte Litigation – Mergers & Acquisitions Lawyer of the Year, 2012 Charlotte Appellate Practice Lawyer of the Year and 2011 Charlotte Bet-the-Company Litigation Lawyer of the Year.
